Who We Are

An aviation research and development think tank. Built by airport professionals who lived the challenges firsthand.

Born From the Frontlines

AeroGateOps began with a few airport professionals who were tired of fighting the same battles every day. We lived the chaos: Customs still clearing the last international while three early arrivals waited for gates, diversions calling in with nowhere to park, de-icing taking longer than expected, buses stacking up, radios going nonstop. That was our proving ground.

We saw the gap between vendor promises and the reality of operations. Instead of asking "what product can we buy," we asked "what capability can we build?" That is how AeroGateOps was born.

"We are not here to push the next hype cycle. Our role is to build on what exists and add the next layer of capability airports actually need."

A Think Tank, Not a Vendor

Vendors sell products. They package platforms and try to solve everything at once. A think tank works differently. We focus on one issue at a time, test solutions in real conditions, and refine them until they work.

We respect the massive investments airports have already made in their systems and their people. We are not here to replace what exists. Our role is to strengthen it.

The "Think" Part

We do not start with technology. We start with thought. Too often in this industry, tools are sold before the real problems are understood. Our responsibility is to step back, look at the airport as a whole, and ask the questions that get to the root of the issue.

Sometimes that leads to technology. Just as often it leads to fundamentals like refining or establishing SOPs that reflect an airport's unique operation. One-size-fits-all does not work. Industry clarity paired with local reality does.

We are the "think" because we do the hard work first: researching, testing, and solving puzzles. Only then do we move forward with solutions that strengthen the people and systems already in place.

Our Mission

Focused on solutions that empower the people who make airports work.

R&D Over Buzzwords

"Innovation" has become the airport buzzword. Everyone uses it, but most of the time it does not mean much. Airports do not need buzzwords. They need results that hold up under real-world pressure.

That is why we emphasize R&D. Research is disciplined, focused, and measurable. It means picking a real issue, studying it deeply, and developing something that works. We do not try to solve everything at once. We identify a problem and build an answer.

Patents That Matter

AeroGateOps already has a patent, with several more in development. Each one ties directly to operational bottlenecks we have faced firsthand. This is not theory. These are solutions that work.

Some solutions we will license so airports, airlines, and vendors can integrate them into their own systems. That revenue helps fund more research. But not everything needs to be commercialized. Other solutions we may give away for free, because sometimes the fastest way to help the industry is simply to solve the puzzle and share the answer.

What We Believe

Empower, Never Replace

Technology will fail. People do not. Our work gives employees sharper tools, not sidelines them. The test is simple: does this make the employee more capable in the moment that matters?

Real-Time or Nothing

Data has to sharpen employees in the moment. If information cannot be presented live and in real time to the people who need it, then it is just numbers on a page.

Field-Tested Solutions

We test solutions in real conditions and refine them until they work. No glossy demos. No vendor pitches. Just capability that holds up under pressure.

Start With Thought

We do the hard work first: researching, testing, solving puzzles. Technology comes second. Understanding comes first.

Build on What Exists

We respect the investments airports have already made. Our role is to add the next layer of capability, not tear down what is working.

Share When It Helps

Not every answer needs to be commercialized. Some puzzles are worth solving just to clear the path for the industry.

Technology as a Tool, Not a Solution

AI is another word that gets overused. For us it is not a slogan, it is a tool.

We apply AI to specific problems: adaptive gate sequencing, congestion forecasting, decision-support systems. But our philosophy is clear: AI should empower employees, not replace them. Technology will fail. People do not. Our role is to give employees sharper tools, not sideline them.

"When employees are empowered, passengers feel the difference. The lines move smoother, the answers are clearer, and the operation runs stronger."

Why This Work Is Urgent

Airports are facing a convergence of challenges: higher demand, larger facilities, and tighter staffing. Complexity is climbing faster than the industry's ability to adapt.

Adding another dashboard will not stop planes from holding for gates or fix the morning push after a de-icing backlog. What is needed is adaptive capability, solutions designed through research, tested in the field, and built to help employees respond faster.

Different from NextGen

FAA NextGen is about long-term policy modernization. It matters, but it moves slowly. It is a multi-year roadmap shaped by committees and regulations.

AeroGateOps is different. We are not years away. We are here now. We are small, fast, and focused on live operational problems that airports face every day.

"Aviation needs focused research and bold thinking. We bring the operational expertise and technical discipline to solve problems that others have overlooked."

Looking Ahead

In the short term, we will be looking for grants next year to expand our research and development. That support will allow us to take on more projects and be ready to address emerging challenges.

Advanced Air Mobility & UAS

We are watching AAM and drones, but we are not chasing them. There are already plenty of groups trying to own the narrative, and right now it is a lot of cooks in the kitchen.

Our strength is different. While others predict, we prepare. We know the unknowns are coming. AAM and UAS will bring operational challenges no roadmap fully anticipates. When they do, AeroGateOps will be ready to step in with research, testing, and solutions that make sense in the real world.

The Long-Term Vision

Our vision is to empower the airport employee, never replace them. Technology will fail. People will not. Our work is not about technology for its own sake. It is about creating clarity and capability for the employees who hold the operation together.

The Team

What strikes people most about AeroGateOps is not just the patents or the research-driven vision. It is the caliber and focus of the team. A select group of professionals, each with deep operational backgrounds, collaborating to solve problems that feel much larger than their headcount.

AeroGateOps came together as a convergence at the right time. The right mix of experience, insight, and vision, arriving when the industry needed it most. What started as focused research into operational puzzles is now growing into a full research and development engine for airports.

"For an industry used to large programs and polished vendor pitches, that is the surprise. The biggest solutions may not come from the biggest players. Sometimes they come from the most focused team in the room."
